£¨English
as a Second Language£©Program
offered at Shenyang Red River Advanced Technical Training Center (SRRC)
consists of two parts: a full-time language training program and a
part-time program. Classes are offered at the main school (on the
campus of Shenyang Electric Power Institute) as well as at the
downtown campus. We supply textbooks for all the programs and there
is a teacher¡¯s resource room available to get additional support
materials.
The full-time program is divided into five different levels
according to the Canadian Benchmark (CB). Level1 = CB Level 1&2,
Level 2 = CB Level 3&4, Level 3 = CB Level 5&6, Level 4 = CB Level
6&7, Level 5 = CB Level 8&9. The purpose of the full-time program is
to assist the student, in developing English language fluency in
listening, speaking, reading, writing and viewing. We also offer a
Basic English program, delivered by Chinese instructors, for the
students who have little English. The students who finish this
program with a passing grade can enter Level 1 automatically.
Each program is nine weeks in duration with March, May, September
and November as entry dates. Students must take an entrance test, be
interviewed and write an essay before being placed in the correct
level. Courses have been designed to develop speaking, listening,
reading, writing, viewing and computer skills. Courses objectives
are met through a combination of regular classroom activities
including grammar, spelling, pronunciation and audio/visual cassette
exercises to support the five basic language skill areas. As well,
students are involved in self-directed instruction in the
communication lab. Occasionally, classes are held in the A/V Room
using videos and discussion.
The part-time program focuses on speaking and listening only. The
classes are held in the evenings or on the weekends. It is designed
for working people or the ones who cannot attend the full-time
course. There are four levels for the part-time training.
Also we offer special language training course tailored to the need
of the clients. We have received positive feedback from out clients,
such as Siemens, Gillett, Holiday Inn, Shenyang Academy of Music and
so on. We can offer classes on campus or at the client choice of
site.
